Terry Stevens

I was born in Storm Lake, Iowa and raised in a small-town called Alta. As a family I was brought up in the church. I bounced around different churches when I was a kid. It wasn’t until I was about 9 that we joined my uncle’s church. 1st Baptist Church in Gilmore City, Iowa. I went to Wayne State college in Wayne Nebraska, Bethel University in St. Paul Minnesota, and Northwestern Christian College in Orange City Iowa. It was in Orange City, where I embraced the love I had for acappella music and joined a musical group called Lighthouse. In the summer of 2000, I joined another group called The Continentals. We toured all over the US and overseas. From there I moved to California. After moving,  I joined an urban acappella quartet and continued my love for singing. I Evnentually moved back to Iowa in the fall of 2010. I lived in Spirit Lake for a year before I moved to Spencer where I work at State Farm as an agent. It was in spencer that I met my beautiful wife, Erin. We have 3 kids, Layla, Emorie, and Jaxson, along with our dog named Aslan and our cat named Lulu. Our children love being a part of the kid’s programs offered at Hope. My wife serves in Sunday school and in the nursey. I love being a part of the worship team and serving as the Director of Discipleship. One of my favorite verses is Luke 9:23-24. “Then he said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciples must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.”
